On Friday evenings this summer and fall, the corner of Park Avenue and Front Street in Plainfield will have a reason to stay a little longer.
Downtown Plainfield has announced the 2026 Pop Up Concert Series — four free outdoor performances at Park Plaza running from July through October. The lineup moves through Latin, soul, R&B, blues, and neo-soul, a range that reflects the culture and energy that makes Downtown Plainfield one of the most distinctive corners of Union County. Union County Life is spreading the word so neighbors near and far can get the dates on the calendar.
"The Pop Up Concert Series is a wonderful way to activate our downtown, support local businesses and bring the community together through live music," said Natalie Pineiro, executive director of Downtown Plainfield. "We are excited to welcome residents and visitors to enjoy an incredible lineup of artists while experiencing all that Downtown Plainfield has to offer."
All four concerts run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Park Plaza. Arrive early — the businesses along Park Avenue are worth the extra time before the music starts.
July 10 — Janetza Miranda | Latin/Soul/R&B
Aug. 7 — Rainbow Fresh | Blues
Sept. 11 — Ronnell Harrison | R&B
Oct. 2 — Doni Nicole | Neo-Soul
All concerts are free and open to the public.
