Michigan Deli Athletes of the Week: Emma DiNardo & Brady Gribbin
Maria Torres · Union County Life
Emma DiNardo and Brady Gribbin have been named this week's Athletes of the Week in Kenilworth, recognized by local coaches for their dedication to sports and personal growth.
Emma DiNardo is heading into fourth grade at Harding Elementary School and plays softball. She plays third base and said her best memory of softball is hitting a game-tying triple and scoring the game-winning run. When she's not on the field, Emma enjoys French fries and her favorite school subject is gym.
Brady Gribbin will be a seventh grader at David Brearley Middle School and has been playing baseball since he was four years old. He plays for Kenilworth's 12U Districts team and year round for Untamed Gold, playing both catcher and first baseman positions. Brady's best sports memory is hitting his first home run last year in North Edison.
Beyond sports, Brady finds time for video games and hanging out with friends. He's also a Yankees fan. More significantly, Brady has managed Type 1 Diabetes since age seven—a condition he was diagnosed with but has never allowed to stop him from playing or reaching his dreams. Despite the challenges of managing blood sugars on the field, Brady continues to pursue his goals. After high school, he hopes to play baseball in college and build a successful career.
Union County Life celebrates the young athletes in Kenilworth who demonstrate dedication, heart, and resilience both on and off the field.
The Athletes of the Week are chosen by Kenilworth coaches.
