Lawn chairs and blankets are coming back out at Alan M. Augustine Village Green, as the Township of Scotch Plains gets ready to welcome neighbors for its 2026 Summer Concert Series.
Union County Life readers in Scotch Plains can pencil in two Thursday evenings this July for free live music under the summer sky. The Scotch Plains Department of Parks and Recreation opens the series on July 9 with Soul Seduction, a band performing R&B favorites on the Village Green stage. If weather forces a postponement, the rain date is set for July 16.
The second show returns July 23 with Alden Street, performing hits from the 1960s and 1970s. That evening will also honor the volunteers who give their time throughout the year, with a rain date scheduled for July 30 if needed.
