Westfield Town Council Approves Contracts for Houlihan/Sid Fay Fields Improvements

Westfield's town council approved two separate contracts for improvements to Houlihan/Sid Fay Fields during Tuesday's meeting on July 14, 2026. The votes authorizing the spending were unanimous among attending members.

Resolutions 179-2026 and 180-2026 formalized the contract awards for parking lot and field house work, as well as turf replacement at the 4-acre complex bordered by Lamberts Mill Road and Rahway Avenue.

Parking and Field House Work

Applied Landscape Technologies, based in Montville, New Jersey, will handle parking lot expansion and field house improvements. The company submitted the lowest qualified bid at $2,927,280.30.

Turf Replacement

FieldTurf USA, Inc., located in Calhoun, Georgia, was selected through the Bergen County Cooperative Pricing System for turf replacement. The contract will not exceed $746,820.76.

Houlihan/Sid Fay Fields serves as one of Westfield's main athletic complexes, offering lighted synthetic turf fields for multiple sports. The town previously approved additional funding for the project in June as part of its capital improvement plan.

Councilman David Kiefer was not present for the vote. All other attending council members voted in favor.
