Berkeley Heights Council Meets Tuesday on Sewer, Police Ordinances

The Berkeley Heights Township Council will meet Tuesday, August 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the municipal building, 29 Park Ave. The council will consider final adoption of two ordinances and introduce a third, addressing infrastructure improvements, public safety staffing, and traffic regulations.

The council will introduce Ordinance 2026-20, which would remove restrictions on left-hand turns from Valley Road onto Twin Falls Road. Introduction does not constitute adoption. A public hearing and final adoption are scheduled for September 15.
Contract Amendments
The council will consider amending two contracts with Harbor Consultants Inc. One amendment reduces the contract amount for engineering services on the Columbia Middle School lower fields project. The second amendment updates the certification of funds for the Sport Complex at Lower Columbia Park project.
Recognition and Public Comment
The meeting opens with a proclamation honoring Molly Altman for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, followed by recognition of Jayden Mann's Eagle Scout achievement.
