Maria Torres · Union County Life

Gina's Tennis World is celebrating the grand opening of its third court on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 649 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights. The facility expansion reflects the continued growth of a long-standing community business and represents increased capacity for tennis instruction in the region.

The Expansion

The addition of a third court expands Gina's Tennis World's instruction capacity. Owner Gina Genovese hopes the new facility, along with a refreshed sign on Springfield Avenue, will help community members discover the tennis instruction center.

Business History and Growth

Gina Genovese founded Gina's Tennis World in 1983 after stepping away from the women's professional tour. The facility has operated for over 40 years, serving players from ages 5 to 80 at every skill level. Genovese continues teaching alongside fellow instructors Coach Wendy and Coach Phil, who have been part of the team for more than two decades.

Owner's Perspective

Genovese reflected on the expansion: "After being in business for 43 years in Berkeley Heights, I am so excited to have the opportunity to have more kids and adults learning to love the game of tennis. I still enjoy teaching even more than I did in 1983."

Community Testimonials

Former player Tanvi Silvester, now in college, praised the facility's community environment. "I'd recommend Gina's Tennis World because it's such a friendly environment. Gina, Wendy and the entire staff are so welcoming and kind."

Julia Jarvis, a student and player at the club for 22 years, emphasized the facility's role in the community: "Gina's Tennis World has always been community-focused, where everyone feels like family."
