Kenilworth Families: Apply Now for Free and Reduced School Meals

Maria Torres · Union County Life

Harding Elementary School in Kenilworth is accepting applications for free and reduced-price school meals for the 2026–2027 school year. Families should submit applications now to avoid losing meal benefits when the carryover period ends.

Union County Life is covering this school administrative announcement as part of our ongoing coverage of education news and family resources across all 21 Union County municipalities.

Children who received free or reduced-price meal benefits during the 2025–2026 school year will have those benefits carry over for the first 30 operating days of the new school year only. After that date—approximately October 21, 2026—benefits expire unless a new application has been submitted and approved.

Families have two application methods available. Submit a completed paper application to Harding Elementary School's main office, or apply online through the Genesis Parent Portal. Both methods are equally valid and take the same amount of time.

Harding Elementary School encourages families to apply even if they are unsure whether they qualify. Completing a meal application may provide a child and family with valuable additional benefits.
