Program Structure and Curriculum

Classes are held on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays at St. Theresa School. Religious education begins when a child enters first grade. The curriculum is organized by grade level to match student development and sacramental preparation.

Grade-Level Programs

First and second graders prepare for First Reconciliation and First Communion. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade cover the Ten Commandments, the seven sacraments, and the parts of the Mass. A homeschool option is available for these grade levels.

Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders prepare for Confirmation. The final phase of the Confirmation course uses a hybrid of online and in-person learning. High school students who have not yet received the sacrament of Confirmation are also welcome to enroll.

For older students who may be behind in receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and/or Communion, the program offers a specialized two-year course held on Sunday mornings.

Registration and Contact

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is ongoing. There is a nominal yearly fee for classes. For specific fee information, registration, or questions, families can contact the Religious Education Office by phone at (908) 276-4681 or by email at ccd.kathy.lunn@mysts.org.

The program is designed to support families in their children's religious education and sacramental preparation, regardless of which school their children attend during the week.
