Maria Torres · Union County Life
Roselle Borough is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of diversity, community, and tradition this September with two major community events. Hosted by Mayor Donald Shaw, the Roselle Borough Council, and the Department of Recreation, residents can look forward to the upcoming Multicultural Festival as well as the annual Senior Picnic.
Celebrate Diversity at the Multicultural Festival
Eight hours of non-stop music, food, and cultural performances are coming to the 200 block of Chestnut Street on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The Multicultural Festival will run from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM outside Roselle Borough Hall (210 Chestnut Street).
Under this year's theme, "One Community. Many Cultures. Endless Celebration," the festival features a packed entertainment lineup:
3:00 PM: Antione Qua & Friends take the stage.
7:00 PM: Mexican and Latin entertainment hosted by La Radiante Radio & TV Friends.
Throughout the Day: Live DJ sets covering Hip Hop, Caribbean, and R&B.
Beyond the music, attendees can explore a wide variety of food trucks, cultural displays, and local vendor booths. A dedicated kids zone will also be available, making it a perfect day out for the entire family.
Connect at the Annual Senior Picnic
Before the festival kicks off later in the month, Roselle's older adults are invited to the annual Senior Picnic on Friday, September 11, 2026. The event takes place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bud Simmons 'Pine' Park on Pine Street.
The afternoon promises great music, engaging games, delicious food, and a wonderful opportunity for community connection. Please note that registration is strictly required to attend. Interested participants can secure their spot by calling the Roselle Department of Recreation at 908-245-6717.
