The Town of Westfield's second and final online auction for retired street signs ended on August 10, 2026, bringing in more than $27,000 to be used for future town events, according to Mayor Jeremy Berman, who announced the results during a town council meeting.
This auction was the second in a series. In 2025, the Town of Westfield held its first online auction for street signs that were replaced with new blue and white signs by the Department of Public Works. That first auction raised more than $86,000, which was earmarked for public arts.
The most recent auction included county road signs, signs that remained unsold from the first auction, and signs that were not included the previous year due to the auction's limit of 1,000 items.
Combined, the two auctions raised over $114,000 and sold 1,512 signs total, according to Mayor Berman. More than 2,900 bids were placed in the summer 2026 auction.
The highest bid was $351 for Harrison Avenue. Arlington Avenue received the most bids at 45.
