Which Westfield Streets Are Being Paved the Week of Sept. 7?
Maria Torres · Union County Life
The Town of Westfield has finalized its road-resurfacing schedule for the week of September 7, 2026. Capital improvement crews intend to mill and pave thirteen municipal streets alongside two pedestrian pathways as part of a broader municipal infrastructure initiative.
The upcoming operations represent a critical component of Westfield's ongoing engineering strategy to resurface approximately 40 roads town-wide over the course of the year. Union County Life has tracked the progress of the public works push across the municipality.
Town administrators previously prioritized sixteen separate infrastructure projects for completion prior to the summer season due to their immediate proximity to local school buildings. A separate collection of 21 roads, including segments of Rahway Avenue, Tuttle Parkway, and Gallows Hill Road, were successfully paved earlier in the year.
The current phase of construction targets key regional thoroughfares. The full list of roadways slated for milling and paving this week includes Brightwood Avenue, Dorian Place, Highgate Avenue, Talcott Road, St. Georges Place, St. John's Place, Sandy Hill Road, and the entirety of Dorian Road extending from Lamberts Mill Road to the Scotch Plains border. Crews will also service Bell Drive, Tice Place, Summit Court, First Street, and the pedestrian pathways along Tamaques Way and Seward Avenue. Mayor Jeremy Berman noted that all heavy machinery operations remain strictly subject to local weather conditions and may adjust in the event of precipitation.
