Record-Breaking Drive-In Movie Night at Academy of Our Lady of Peace in New Providence

Maria Torres · Union County Life

According to Academy of Our Lady of Peace's announcement.

Rain fell just before showtime, but it didn’t dampen the turnout. The Academy of Our Lady of Peace hosted its annual Drive-In Movie Night in New Providence, and cars packed the parking lot. Union County Life is reporting on the community event.

The movie was Toy Story 5. By the time the film began, the skies had cleared. Attendees stepped out of their vehicles and sat closer to the screen to enjoy the evening.

Event coordinator Danielle Mollo reported a milestone. “This year’s movie night set a record with over 75 cars in attendance,” Mollo said.

Food trucks from Paolo’s Kitchen and Zita’s Homemade Ice Cream were on site, and the hungry crowd kept them busy throughout the evening.

The drive-in movie is the first in a series of events designed to promote New Providence and give residents a stronger sense of community. The series continues with Pioneer Day on Sunday, October 25.

Pioneer Day will be a street fair along Springfield Avenue, featuring a wide range of vendors and borough institutions. The Academy of Our Lady of Peace will take part in the celebration.
