NJ MVC Mobile Unit to Visit Elizabeth for Reentry Corporation Event

Maria Torres · Union County Life

Elizabeth residents who need motor vehicle services can handle some of that business closer to home on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Union County Life reports that the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC) is hosting a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) mobile unit at 324 Trinity Place. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and is open to court involved individuals, veterans and active NJRC participants.

The mobile unit lets eligible people complete certain motor vehicle transactions without traveling to a traditional MVC agency. The NJRC event listing shows the unit running until 1 p.m.

Services at the event include driver’s license renewals and replacements, updates to license information, endorsements and organ donor registration. Attendees can also apply for non driver identification cards, renew or replace vehicle registration cards, surrender license plates and obtain eligible disability, Purple Heart or disabled veteran placards.

Limited appointments will be available for REAL ID services. Attendees can also apply for examination permits for written tests, but testing will not be administered onsite.

Appointments are required, and advance registration is encouraged. Organizers warn that services may be canceled because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

For more information, contact Karlicia Thomas, NJRC facility director, at kthomas@njreentry.org, or Robyn Brown, legal services coordinator, at rbrown@njreentry.org.
