Plainfield Salvation Army Diaper Bank Serves Nearly 50 Families Weekly
Maria Torres · Union County Life
According to The Salvation Army New Jersey Division and the Plainfield Corps program page, checked on October 21, 2026.
Every Thursday, nearly 50 families visit the Salvation Army's Plainfield Corps for diapers, wipes and other baby supplies.
The diaper bank is open Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the corps, 615 Watchung Avenue in Plainfield. Union County Life confirmed the schedule on the corps program page. The weekly count comes from a September post by The Salvation Army New Jersey Division.
During National Diaper Need Awareness Week in September, the Moms Helping Moms Foundation visited Plainfield with extra diapers, clothing and books for local families, according to the division's post. The division thanked the group for its ongoing support.
Moms Helping Moms, based in Warren, does not give items directly to families. It works through a network of partner groups across New Jersey, and the Salvation Army Plainfield Corps is on its partner list. The foundation's list says the Plainfield site serves all families.
The corps runs other help on its schedule. Its soup kitchen serves lunch from noon to 1 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Its food pantry is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The corps program page asks for volunteers and donations for its hunger programs. Moms Helping Moms also collects diapers for its partner network, with details at momshelpingmoms.org.
Neither group's pages say whether families need ID or proof of address, or whether there is a limit per visit. Families should call the corps at (908) 756-2595 before a first visit.
The diaper bank is open each Thursday morning. Find more Plainfield events, businesses, and local news on Union County Life.
