Springfield's Chisholm Center Hosts School's Out Camps Nov. 3, 5 and 6

According to the Township of Springfield's news post on October 20, 2026.

Springfield families have three camp choices for the days school is closed in early November.

The Springfield Recreation Department and three partners are running school's out camps at the Chisholm Community Center, 100 South Springfield Avenue, in Springfield. Union County Life confirmed the details in the township's Oct. 20 announcement. The camps fall on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, and on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5 and 6, during the teachers convention.

Kiddies Kaleidoscope runs a Fall Mini Camp on all three days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for grades PreK4 through 6. Activities include experiments, books and art, science, robotics, engineering, geography and indoor and outdoor play, weather permitting.

The cost is $250 per child for all three full days, according to the provider's flyer. Its registration page at kiddieskaleidoscope.com listed the camp as sold out on Oct. 21.

Sweet Samantha offers three cake decorating sessions for ages 5 to 14, each from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $65 per child. Children make an acai bowl of fondant fruit on Nov. 3 and a panda boba cake on Nov. 5. On Nov. 6, they make food illusions such as cannoli, spaghetti and a salad cake.

To sign up for Sweet Samantha, parents email Samantha at samilynn9@aol.com with the child's name and age. Payment is through Venmo at @sweet-samantha, according to the township post.

USA Sport Group runs a Multi-Sports Camp on Nov. 5 and 6 for ages 5 to 12. Children play more than eight sports with experienced coaches, rain or shine. A half day from 9 a.m. to noon is $90, and a full day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is $160. Registration is at usasportgroup.com/orgs/993.

The township post does not list registration deadlines, space limits or residency rules, or say what children should bring for lunch. Questions can go to the Springfield Recreation Department at (973) 912-2227.

Each provider handles its own sign up, so families register directly with the camp they choose. Find more Springfield events, businesses, and local news on Union County Life.
