Maria Torres · Union County Life
Springfield's Recreation Department keeps a full schedule going for residents 55 and older, and June 2026 is no exception. The month includes fitness classes, games, a bus trip, an art session, and the Springfield Senior Citizens Club meeting — most of it free.
Union County Life has the full rundown on what's available this month at the Chisholm Community Center and beyond.
Games, Fitness, and Drop-In Options
Residents can drop in for bingo, poker, dominos, Rummikub, and puzzles, or use the computer lab during open hours. The fitness room is available on weekdays from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. All three options are free with a free annual registration.
Exercise Classes This Month
Exercise classes run throughout June. "Shape Up with Liz," "Forever Fit with Betsy," and "Kickboxing with Andrew" are all on the schedule, along with an "Exercise, Movies, and Music" session offered in partnership with the Union Township Health Department. Free annual registration is required for all classes.
Indoor open-play pickleball is also available at no cost this month, with the same free annual registration required.
