Springfield Recreation has released its July activity calendar for residents 55 and older. The month is packed with programming.
Games: Bingo, poker, dominoes, Rummikub, and puzzles run throughout the month.
Computer lab and fitness room: Open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free annual registration required.
Exercise classes: Three options this month — "Shape Up with Liz," "Forever Fit with Betsy," and "Movement & Music with Lisa." Free annual registration required.
Indoor pickleball: Open-play available. Free annual registration required.
Special Events
Two events require RSVPs. A trivia and ice cream social and a lunch bus trip to Mosaico restaurant in Mountainside are both happening in July. Call Ilene Wilkenfeld at 973-912-2227 to reserve your spot.
Blood Drive
A blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, at the Chisholm Community Center from 2:30 to 7 p.m. To make an appointment, call the New York Blood Center at 732-672-5281. Walk-ins are welcome.
Transportation
Springfield offers free weekday in-town bus service from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (with exceptions for bus maintenance, special trips, and Independence Day). Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Call 973-912-2227 to book.
Community Pool
The Springfield Community Pool is open for the summer. If you haven't registered yet, sign up online at thesay.org/scp or call the Summit Area YMCA at 908-273-3330.
