Groundwork Elizabeth Hosts Free Fall at the Farm on W. Grand Oct. 31
Maria Torres · Union County Life
According to Groundwork Elizabeth's announcement on October 19, 2026.
Paintbrushes, pumpkins and a bow and arrow are not what most people expect to find behind a library. In Elizabeth, all three will share one Saturday morning on a small city farm.
Groundwork Elizabeth will host Fall at the Farm, its annual fall celebration, on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 740 W. Grand St. Union County Life readers looking for a free fall outing have just one step to take first, which is registering.
Groundwork Elizabeth runs the microfarm, and the event opens the space to neighbors. Visitors can explore the farm, learn about the group's programs and see the work it does in the community.
The morning includes pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, archery and more, according to Groundwork Elizabeth. The group's flyer asks people to bring their families, invite their friends and come celebrate the season together.
A microfarm is a farm on a small plot of land. The flyer calls this one Elizabeth's very own, and the celebration gives families a chance to see it up close.
The farm sits behind the Elmora Branch Library on W. Grand St. Anyone who has visited that branch already knows the way.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Organizers say there will be one pumpkin per child. No registration deadline has been announced, so signing up early is the safer move.
Families can register on Groundwork Elizabeth's SignUpGenius page, which the flyer's QR code opens. The announcement does not cover parking, age guidelines or a phone number. For one morning, a painted pumpkin and a walk around the farm may be the best way to say hello to fall. Find more Elizabeth events and community news on Union County Life.
