Linden 4th Ward Candidate Tracy Y. Nunez Outlines Council Priorities
Maria Torres · Union County Life
Voters in Linden’s 4th Ward will choose a council member in the Nov. 3 General Election. Union County Life is sharing candidate profiles from TAPinto Linden’s Meet the Candidates series. This profile features Tracy Y. Nunez, who is running for 4th Ward Council Member.
Nunez was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She moved with her family to Union City at three months old, where she was raised and educated in the Union City school system. She earned an undergraduate degree at New Jersey City University and a master’s degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
In 2002, Nunez married and moved to Union County. In 2003, her family bought their home in Linden, where they are raising their daughter.
Nunez explained why she is running. “I am running for 4th Ward Council because our residents deserve a strong voice and effective representation. For too long, residents have felt unheard while concerns about safer streets, clean neighborhoods, well-maintained parks, and reliable infrastructure have gone unaddressed.”
She plans to hold regular resident meetings, both in person and virtually. She also plans to create a 4th Ward Facebook page to share information and hear directly from residents.
On development and quality of life, Nunez said, “I will advocate for improvements to our sewer infrastructure, oppose overdevelopment, and work to improve our quality of life by keeping our parks clean, our neighborhoods well maintained, and our streetlights working.”
