Roosevelt Elementary Students Raised Over $9,000 in Rahway

According to Rahway Public Schools' post.

According to Roosevelt Elementary School's announcement.

Students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Rahway opened the school year with a Kindness Challenge that raised over $9,000 for the school.

The Roosevelt PTA organized the campaign, which was hosted through Raise Above It. It was designed to inspire acts of kindness, strengthen community connections and support the school through positive action.

Students invited friends and family to donate. Just by sending invitations, even if no donation came in, students earned a soft blanket and their own Passport to Kindness. Those who raised $150 or more received an additional prize.

The passports encouraged students to spread kindness at home, at school and in the community. Children helped classmates and teachers, pitched in with chores and lent a hand around the neighborhood. Students who completed all their acts and turned in their passports were entered in a mystery prize drawing.

The school said the challenge served as a kickoff and that its commitment to kindness continues. Roosevelt uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports framework, known as PBIS, to encourage responsible choices, respect and support for one another every day.

Its Teddy Trailblazers initiative recognizes students who go above and beyond in showing compassion, helpfulness and community spirit.

According to the school, support from families and friends, along with the partnership between Raise Above It and the Roosevelt PTA, means more engaging programs and enrichment opportunities are on the way.
