The Union Catholic Performing Arts Company will present a new stage adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with three shows: Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.

The story follows the Bennet family and its five daughters in rural England around 1800. Elizabeth Bennet, the second oldest, clashes with the wealthy and reserved Fitzwilliam Darcy as both learn to look past first impressions.
Maggie Graham and Steve Graham, a member of Union Catholic's Class of 1989, are directing the show together. The cast has 19 student performers, backed by a student crew of 15.
The company works with Stage Craft Studio in Scotch Plains, which is owned by Maggie Graham and Julie Wischusen. According to the school, the studio has produced summer shows at Union Catholic since 2015, and several of its founders are Union Catholic alumni.
The school invites students, families, alumni and community members to attend. The announcement does not list running time, age guidance, parking or accessibility details. For questions, call Union Catholic High School at 908-889-1600.
