Berkeley Heights Coat Drive Collects Donations for Howard's Mission
Maria Torres · Union County Life
According to The Liberty Group's announcement.
A coat that no longer gets worn at your house could help someone else stay warm this winter.
The Liberty Group is collecting new and gently used coats for children and adults through Friday, Dec. 4, as part of its seventh annual coat drive in Berkeley Heights. Donations can be dropped off weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Liberty Group, a Berkeley Heights agent for United Van Lines, runs the drive with help from partner businesses that host collection bins.
Every coat collected goes to Howard's Mission. More information about the organization is available at howardsmission.com.
In Berkeley Heights, there are two places to drop off a coat. One is The Liberty Group at 50 Industrial Road, where the bins sit at the front entrance. The other is Berkeley Heights Town Hall at 29 Park Ave.
Bins are also set up at Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach, 392 Springfield Ave., Summit; Klug Realty Group, 180 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge; and four Turpin Realtors offices in Chatham, Oldwick, Mendham and Far Hills.
The drive is collecting new or gently used coats for both children and adults. To donate, bring a coat to any bin during collection hours.
The announcement does not say whether hats, gloves or other winter items are accepted, whether coats need to be cleaned first or whether the Town Hall bin keeps the same 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours. For questions, call The Liberty Group at 800-524-0567.
