Netflix Production Films in Downtown Plainfield on Friday

Maria Torres · Union County Life

A Netflix production filmed at two downtown Plainfield locations on Friday, October 30, 2026, according to a Plainfield report published that evening. Union County Life is sharing the update for residents who noticed the activity in the area.

The filming ran through the workday at Queen City Coffee Roasters and Cindelle’s Bookstore, and at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Queen City Coffee Roasters closed at 10 a.m. as work continued. Crew members covered the storefront’s large windows with white material, and production lights and other equipment were set up along the sidewalk.

Preparations were visible earlier in the week. On Monday, a reporter saw Plainfield Film Liaison Earle Holder meeting with police and fire personnel at Queen City Coffee Roasters. About 10 production trailers and trucks lined East Fourth Street near the Plainfield Police Station, and black vans traveled between that base and the two filming locations.

At the church, actors were seen boarding vans on East Fourth Street and riding to Crescent Avenue. By the afternoon, large lights and a boom lift with additional lighting surrounded the building. Crew members moved in and out throughout the afternoon, and the activity appeared focused on interior filming.

By 6:30 p.m., shooting appeared finished at both locations. The white material had been removed from the cafe windows, and a few crew members remained outside.

The report identifies the production as Netflix but does not name the movie or series. It does not give dates for any further filming.
